ORCHARD SPRING & SUMMER

The orchards will open Saturday, Sept. 6th! The apples are growing -- rain helps them size up, sun helps them sweeten and color up.

We grow many different apple varieties, each with its own pace of ripening — “early,” “mid-season,” or “late.” During harvest, more and more varieties come on, so no two apple-tasting visits are quite the same. Keep track of your favorites by calling the Fruit Phone: 603-448-1511. We'll be open Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, closed Tues-Wed.

Hang out at your leisure: there are picnic tables, chairs, views, woods walks, acres of space to wander, and a very tall fence around the whole place (kids can run far, but can't get lost.)

Fruit quality looks great this year. Space out your visits to taste different varieties at their peak. Celebrate the beautiful changes of Fall!

On Farnum Hill, we use the word “cider” to mean an alcoholic beverage fermented from particular apples, just as “wine” is fermented from particular grapes.

From dairy-land to orchard-land..

We are a mom and pop orchard and cidery owned and operated by Louisa Spencer and Stephen Wood. We have been growing apples since 1965.
